Having said that , let me point out thousands of new businesses (and new converts) in just about every type of business and trade, not only has a website but they are engaging in some level of SEO. For a website to be successful at being found on the internet and in beating out the competition, website owners understand that it is almost impossible to get that first page status and a daily chore to keep it. They find themselves there today ,gone tomorrow. The truth is that they need to be on page one if they are going to project the type of presence it takes to get the calls and request from customers so hard to come by in this economy. I am not saying that SEO is useless, what I am saying is that you have to have a broader strategy to excel on the internet.
Search Engine Optimization is like being in a relationship with someone of low self esteem. You have to constantly remind them daily that you love them and why. Everyone is optimizing for a first page position because everyone knows 80% of the searches don't go beyond that point. I could go on for weeks about what can be done to gain the status you desire as a business owner online, but for the purposes of this article let’s just say it is a lot of work and never ends.
Like brushing your teeth and flossing, it has to be done daily in order to be here today and here tomorrow. I don't discourage business owners from having an optimized website, it certainly has its benefits. It takes time to see the results of your efforts. It can take 3 to 6 months (in most cases) to get to the top of the heap (if you are fortunate ). If I am consulting a business owner I tell them to go for it particularly if they are doing the work themselves . I caution them it has to be maintained daily and I always suggest that they include a PPC campaign in their marketing strategy. So that you have both bases covered (organic or natural listing and sponsored listing).
So what is a PPC campaign or sponsored listing? PPC (Pay Per Click) services are provided through the Search Engines such as Google and Yahoo. It’s like being at an auction without the fun stuff. You get to bid on being on the first page. Here you get to figure out how people search when they are looking for someone with your products or services. They search by entering a description is some sort for what they are looking for. The words they use are called keywords. They can also type in Keyword phrases. For example if someone were searching for a plumber ...how would they phrase it. Sometimes it's obvious , but you would be amazed how people think and how they research. Let’s say in this case they use the most obvious description “plumber” . Plumber would be a keyword.
Now anyone running a PPC campaign that shared an interest in that keyword would put in a bid for that keyword and if successful the highest bidders get to be on the first page.
All major search engines will make available a tool that professionals use to examine what people were searching for last month and they also provide tools that will suggest keywords to bid on. This increases the quality and quantity of traffic flow to your website through the Search Engines. One thing to point out here is you only pay when your ad is clicked on and you will want the pages that visitors land on to be set up in a way that make a good (quick) first impression. Having a phone number and contact form on that page is a must.
So to recap SEO is one way of getting on the first page of a Search Engine inquiry and while it is free in some sense it is also labor intensive and maybe not so free. The other method of getting on the first page of a major Search Engine is to pay for an ad and it is called a sponsored listing. There are many companies and individuals that provide those types of services and it can be costly. While you can do both on your own I don’t recommend that you do because it will take a lot of your time that you will be better off focusing on your business.
Over the many years of research that I have done I have come across a few companies that will provide excellent service at a very competitive rate for both SEO and PPC campaigns . They have made it so affordable you have to wonder if you can afford not to use them. Whatever you decide to do be sure to do a little of both if you can.

When Mr. Johnson's team works with a consumer, they encounterdifferent scenarios depending on the goals of the consumer. Theconsumer might work at home full time for a corporation, or connectwirelessly for home use with a smattering of business use, or he mightbe a road warrior.
Some users are set up by their companies with desktop computers thatare 100 percent used for company work, and separated from the familycomputer, although they typically use the same peripherals andbroadband Internet connection. Some are provided laptops by theircompanies so they can work while traveling or sitting at home. Othersare asked by their employers to use their own computers at home or onthe road.
If the organization provides the laptop, Mr. Johnson says the systemis probably already secured for malware by the IT staff. That staffmight even have a remote connection available to do troubleshooting orto remove the malware.
These days, according to Mr. Johnson, most laptops are connectedwirelessly to the home broadband connection, although mostorganizations haven't set up a protocol on how the home networks shouldbe secured.
If the wireless connection is insecure, it means the organization'sdata is insecure too. The old paradigm applies here about the weakestlink. If the link between the laptop and the home network is insecure,the organization's data may be at risk too, even if other securitymeasures have been implemented.
The first tier of security can be determined using a simple visualexamination. Look at the connection icon, and see if your wirelessnetwork is secure. If not, you might be sharing it with an unauthorizeduser. Should you not be sure, it can be verified remotely by yourcorporate IT person, somebody from Mr. Johnson's team at Geek Squad, orother qualified individual.
Aside from determining the security status, remote diagnostics canbe used in other ways to secure your computer and your data. A remotediagnostician can remove viruses, do some advanced diagnostics and helpyou set up your system software, eliminating that time consuming stepof getting somebody to come into your home or bringing your system tothe depot.
Not all diagnostics and repairs can be done remotely, though, suchas hardware changes, for instance. Some can be done remotely if youplay the part of the on-site diagnostician. That is, you can be led bytelephone to make the appropriate changes to the system. For instance,you can change the security of the wireless network while being walkedthrough the procedure by a telephone support representative.
Whether you are supported by your corporation or you need to reachout to a separate team of repair professionals, you should make surethat your computer is protected and kept in good shape. It could becritical to your company and the security of important data.

My name is Joe Garcia Owner and operator Lets work from home and I am personally working with subscribers who need my help with the Hyper VRE system (developed by Matt Callen and his staff).
